Sandra Herrera Lopez is currently the Director of Social Corporate Responsibility for Laureate-Mexico, appointed to several duties, two of which hold a special place in her heart: Premio UVM (a YouthActionNet program for Mexico); and the training in trades program, Saber Hacer. Sandra coordinates Laureate-Mexico’s relationships with key stakeholders in the area of Corporate Responsibility such as the Global Compact, the UN’s Principles for Responsible Management Education. She also writes the annual CSR report and makes sure that both Laureate-Mexico institutions (Universidad del Valle de Mexico and UNITEC) receive every year the Distinction as Socially Responsible Companies). Colombian by birth, Sandra arrived to Mexico in 2004 to study a Doctorate in Social and Political Sciences, which she finished with honors distinction. MSc in Applied Development with major studies in Economics, she is passionate about social entrepreneurship. Prior to joining Laureate in 2007, Sandra volunteered and worked for the promotion of human rights both in non-governmental organizations and at Mexico’s Secretary of the Interior. She loves writing, reading and one of these days she expects to become a theater actress.
