BioGenera AC is a civil society organization that provides scientific training with a focus on students in primary and middle schools in Mexico. According to the OECD’s PISA test, 48% of Mexican children who graduate middle school have failed to obtain basic science skills. This creates a gap that affects scientific career paths. BioGenera AC’s activities include public outreach, science appropriation, and scientific skills training, with a focus on the most marginalized sectors of society. Through a game methodology, they engage the interest of their beneficiaries and accompany them in their learning process. Their facilitators are trained students from different universities in the State of Nuevo León. So far, more than 1000 primary and middle school children, as well as high school students, have been impacted by their activities. BioGenera works in more than 15 locations across the Metropolitan Area of Monterrey.
